HISTORIC TOWN OF FORT MEADE Fort Meade is a small friendly town where you can easily meet folks at church, Robert’s Barber Shop, or sit with the breakfast group at Broadway Café. Our Chamber of Commerce schedules events throughout the year and sponsors a “Downtown Saturday Night” each month with live entertainment, which gives us another chance to visit and enjoy our friends. Fort Meade is home to the Florida Flywheelers which has events November – February each year. You don’t want to miss seeing their antique engines, pioneer village, and the hayrides at Christmas when everything is decorated for the holidays. In Downtown Fort Meade, you can go back in time when you visit our historical museum and train. The Historical Society has definitely captured the essence of the industry and heritage of our town. Patterson Park has a lovely shaded sidewalk meandering around the lakes for exercise or just a stroll. And, you certainly don’t want to leave without visiting our finest antique shop, Chinoiserie.
